Celebrating Canada Day
Canad Inns is proud to host Manitoba’s largest family friendly Canada Day celebration with the help of our generous sponsors. By Manitobans – For Manitobans – 16th Year
Canad Inns Family Fun Day is our Gift to You.
Canad Inns is proudly Manitoba owned & operated, and our annual Canada Day celebration at Assiniboine Park is one of the many ways we Give Back to our community.
Assiniboine Park holds a very special place in the heart of our Founder and Executive Chair, Leo Ledohowski. To pay tribute to what Assiniboine Park means to him and to say Thank You to Manitobans who have supported Canad Inns, Leo wanted to show his appreciation and give back to the community, by re-establishing Assiniboine Park as a place that families could come together and celebrate. Canad Inns Family Fun Day is Canad Inns’ annual thank-you to Manitobans.
Hundreds of members of the Canad Inns family come together to plan, organize, volunteer and host these family celebrations on July 1st.
Canad Inns Family Fun Day is a daylong event and a wonderful occasion for Manitobans to gather and celebrate our nation’s birthday. The celebrations start at 1:00 pm and feature activities and events for children and families, musical entertainment, and conclude with a spectacular fireworks display set to music. The fireworks show is one you WILL NOT WANT TO MISS.
Canad Inns believes in giving back to our community. Our mission statement is – professionals serving professionals, our community serving the community, our family serving families. This annual Canada Day celebration is one of the many ways we proudly give back to our community.

As a proud Sponsor of We Day Manitoba since 2011, Canad Inns wishes to honour and support Manitoba youth who have embodied the “spirit of we” by giving back to their community following We Day Manitoba.
Nominations are now closed for the 2016 Spirit of We Awards.
Canad Inns would like to congratulate the 2016 Spirit of We Award winners:
The Youth Award was presented to Justin Papoff of Sisler High School in Winnipeg.
Justin understands the importance of community and giving back to his community. He is a student leader of free the children social justice group.
Justin is very active within his school, including many activities that take place during the lunch hour or after school.
He has been a free the children leader for the past 2 years. In this role he has organized many events, most recently fundraising events to support building a school in Kenya by selling Rafiki chains. He is also a contributing writer to the school newspaper.
Justin helped to organize charity drives for Siloam mission, Christmas cheer board, and Winnipeg harvest. He was selected to attend the forum for young Canadians in Ottawa in March 2016.
Justin is an intelligent young man who represents his school and community well. He is an organized and enthusiastic person who is dedicated, diligent and efficient in all that he does.
The Canad inns foundation was honoured to present Justin, a cheque in the amount of $1000. For the Siloam mission in Winnipeg.
The Group Award was presented to Riverview School, Brandon Manitoba.
Riverview school is a small K-6 school of approximately 190 students. They have been working hard this year to support the Samaritan House Foodbank. Their youth revolution group decided they should put their energy, time and money into getting healthy food to kids and families in their community.
The students know that food is important for them to be successful in the classroom, the music room, the gym and basically in all areas of their lives. They have worked together to collect food in support of the Samaritan House Foodbank. They challenged everyone to bring in non-perishable items and collected a lot of food.
What was hard for them to understand was that a couple of months later, the food bank needed more help. It did not have enough food for all the families it served. They had a women from Samaritan House come and teach them about the house and their needs. Then the school went back to their school community and asked for help again. They are very happy that they picked Samaritan House Foodbank as their focus and plan on continuing their partnership with them.
The Canad inns foundation was honoured to present to Riverview school, a cheque in the amount of $1000. For the Samaritan House Foodbank in Brandon.
With the help of our generous sponsors, we are very proud to bring you Manitoba’s largest Family Friendly Canada Day celebration for the 16th consecutive year!
